Howl’O’ween 2022
Howl’O’ween 2022 is the perfect time for all of the ghosts and ghouls to come out. With tricks and treats around every corner, the park is at its best dressed spookily. With a host of scary attractions around the park, shows, dancing spectaculars and so much more. Howl’O’ween is one of the best times of the year!
Chessington turns up the lights, frights and adds a little fire to the proceedings for 2022. Banyan becomes a spectacle and the Mane Stage shows off some frightfully fun dance moves. With crazy routines including more than a little fire, the park’s shows were ‘fangtastic‘.
The witches returned once again to curse the park’s inhabitants and brought with them some of their spookiest songs. Singing and dancing to those classic Halloween hits.
Elsewhere the scares stepped it up a notch, with two live scare attractions suited for the bravest. With the Caves returning for one last fright and the Vile Villagers rounding out the night.
For those looking to really up the frights, After Dark returned to really round off the event. These VIP scare experiences weren’t for the faint of heart, with extreme spooks around every turn.
Howl’O’ween 2022 really was a thrilling event and was the perfect send-off for the main theme park season.
Banyan: The Circle of 8
Banyan is in danger! Join the Circle of 8 as they protect Banyan from evil villains and witches who are after his powers of immortal beauty and wisdom. A show of ferocious fire and effects you won’t want to miss! This intense dance and effects show was once again a highlight of Howl'O'ween. The fiery moves, spectacular flames and effects really bring the story of Banyan Maximum to life!

The Witches Of Adventure Point
Chessington's troublesome trio of witches returned for another year of chaos, casting a spell on the park. But don’t fret, as a new reign of witches takeover to protect the Resort in a battle of good vs evil. These glamourous Witches know how to sing a song or two and get into the spooky atmosphere. They put a spell on us in 2022, lets's hope they return once again for Witching hour!
Trick Or Treat Live
Join Emily and Evie as they go on an epic Trick or Treat adventure to find Candyland. The grumpy Witch has hidden all of the scrummy sweeties! We join them on their journey to find and spread the chocolatey treats. This singing and dancing show on the Mane stage is a lot of spooky fun for everyone at Howl'O'ween!
Scare Attractions
Scary experiences have taken over the park. With scary walkthrough attractions that are designed to be frightful. Two experiences returned for 2022, with Creepy Caves: Elimination and Vile Villagers. This year though, each operated at two different levels of intensity. Giving guests of different ages a scare more suited to their tastes - perfect for all the family.
With these attractions designed to be spooky, we've opted not to publish photos from the scares. These attractions are best visited without spoilers. The photos shown don't ruin any of the experience and are provided by Chessington World of Adventures.
Creepy Caves: Elimination
Returning for a final year, following years of rebellion-inflicted chaos the Angel Fire Plant has mutated. It is engulfing the caves. Can you make it through and destroy it once and for all? Journey through the chaos-filled caves and try to burn the plant to ash once and for all. With two levels of intensity and a VIP After Dark experience, Chessington really sent Creepy Caves out with a bang!
Vile Villagers
All is not silent in the dark corners of Wild Wood. Lost souls have risen from the dead and are haunting those who dare pass through. Tread carefully as you enter this sc-area, for these Vile Villagers are hunting for new blood to join their fang club. They will certainly have your skin crawling and your spine tingling! With two levels of intensity depending on the time of day. This spooky walkthrough was perfect for scare newbies and veterans alike!
VIP Scare Experiences
Welcome to the very home of fear and fright. Chessington's two spooky attractions have returned After Dark in 2022 for a few extreme spooks.
After Dark is a VIP Experience not designed for anyone under the age of 13. We'd certainly reccomend it for those over 16 as by it's very nature, this is extremely intense. The after dark attractions at Chessington are something more akin to what you would find at Thorpe Park's Fright Nights event - only scarier!
We therefore urge caution when booking this VIP Experience. These attractions are extreme, intense and very hands on. The cast will touch, pull, carry and maybe even more! Beware!
Creepy Caves: Elimination After Dark
Back for one last round of torment and torture, Creepy Caves has resurged for the last time. The rebels are heightened and the intensity is turned up to the max. It’s well known that Creepy Caves is undoubtedly the most intense and frightening scare attraction to ever operate at Chessington. But this is more than that.
The thrill level is set from the second you sign up. You’re told you will be touched, manhandled and pushed about. Guests are warned they will be pushed, pulled, shouted at and plunged into dark and confined spaces. Yes - it is that level of intensity. Not only that, but it lasts throughout the entire attraction from start to finish.
This isn't for the faint of heart. It's genuinely frightening. We're sad that this attraction has come to an end, but After Dark is one heck of a way to bow out! We cannot wait to see what they come up with next.
Vile Villagers After Dark
It's vile.
For the first time ever, the Vile Villagers are back after dark and they did not disappoint. This lively and intense scare experience left nothing on the table. With us being pulled, poked, carried and at one point, ridden like horses. Yes - you read that right, ridden!
These villagers are vile by day, but damn right disgusting by night. We were belched at more than we care to admit and even had our bogies inspected! We'll be honest though, it was a blast! No boundaries were crossed and we felt safe throughout. If we said no, they respected it. The cast were fantastic and really put on a show.
Although Vile Villagers After Dark may not be for all. Our group had a blast and if it returns, we'll be first in line!
