Chessington Zoo is a year-round animal attraction located within the Chessington World of Adventures theme park. It is a popular destination for families, animal enthusiasts and visitors of all ages. The zoo first opened in 1931, as a small collection of animals owned by R.S. Goddard, and has since evolved into a thriving and well-respected zoo.

The zoo is home to a diverse range of animals from all over the world. From majestic big cats such as Amur tigers and Asiatic lions. To more common species like reindeer and the tiniest of monkeys in Amazu. Visitors can explore the various habitats and learn about the different animals through informative signs and exhibits. There are also daily talks and encounters, giving visitors the chance to learn more about some of the zoo’s residents.

One of the highlights of Chessington Zoo is undoubtedly its big cat collection. The Amur tigers, in particular, are a real crowd-pleaser, with their striking orange coats and powerful presence. Visitors can watch them roam their spacious enclosures, climb trees and swim in their pool. The Asiatic lions are also a popular attraction, with their distinctive manes and regal bearing.

Another popular exhibit is the Sealife Centre. Where visitors can see a range of marine creatures up close, including sharks, rays, and turtles. There are also regular feeding sessions and talks, giving visitors a fascinating insight into the underwater world.
