Restaurant Extension Planning Begins
August 27th 2015
Restaurant extension planning begins. Exciting developments could soon be underway at Chessington World of Adventures. The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames has received a new planning application. The application outlines the park’s intention to construct an extension to the existing Adventurer’s Chicken Shack restaurant in Market Square.
According to the plans, the proposed extension will occupy the space currently designated as a smoking area. Situated to the right of Market Square’s Pizza Pasta restaurant. The park will remove the nearby guest lockers next to Stubb’s Sweet Shop to make way for the new structure. A new covered archway will provide guests with direct access to the expanded restaurant from the heart of Market Square. Helping to improve guest flow and accessibility.
In addition to the restaurant expansion, the submitted plans also hint at a new food unit. A Grill House is to be constructed in front of the extension. This would be positioned near the area’s central compass feature. Although further details on the design and menu offering for the Grill House remain limited at this stage.
This proposal follows the recent launch of Captain’s Fish & Chips in the Pirates’ Cove area and suggests a broader initiative by the park to increase food outlet capacity across the resort. With key dining locations such as Market Square’s Pizza Pasta and Vampire’s Burger Kitchen often experiencing long queues during peak periods, these developments aim to enhance the park’s food and beverage experience.
As always, Chessington Buzz will continue to follow this story closely and will provide updates as more details emerge. Stay tuned for the latest on this exciting addition to Market Square’s food offering.
