World of Jumanji opens. Chessington World of Adventures Resort has opened its doors to an exhilarating new themed land today. As fans of the Jumanji film franchise can finally experience the World of Jumanji. This groundbreaking-themed land, the first of its kind in the world, promises an unforgettable adventure for families. Complete with the one and only Jumanji rollercoaster, two additional thrilling rides, and much more.
World of Jumanji is a testament to Chessington’s commitment to providing awe-inspiring experiences, representing the resort’s largest investment to date. A staggering 144 tonnes of steel track was used to construct the magnificent Jumanji rollercoaster, known as Mandrill Mayhem. To put it into perspective, that’s equivalent to the weight of 96 hippos, showcasing the magnitude of this engineering marvel.
Emulating the courageous spirit of the film’s beloved characters. Guests at Chessington now have the opportunity to embark on a series of heart-pounding family adventures. Their mission? To locate the legendary Jaguar’s Eye Jewel, break the curse, and ultimately save Jumanji.
Three New Rides
The centrepiece of the World of Jumanji is Mandrill Mayhem, the only rollercoaster of its kind worldwide. This winged, launch shuttle rollercoaster, featuring Chessington’s first-ever inversion, takes riders on a wild journey through the jungle. From as little as 1.2 meters in height, brave adventurers are launched into the air. Spiralling upside down at speeds of up to 42 miles per hour. All while dodging the dangers of the jungle. For those daring enough to face the challenge again. Mandrill Mayhem offers a thrilling backward journey, adding an extra layer of excitement.
The excitement doesn’t stop there, as visitors can also experience the heart-stopping Mamba Strike. This ride offers a dizzying encounter with the fangs of a black mamba. Additionally, families can enjoy the Ostrich Stampede, a whirlwind ride through the dunes, expertly avoiding a herd of stampeding ostriches.
In addition to the three exhilarating rides, World of Jumanji offers a range of other Jumanji-themed activities. Including a maze of pathways that hark back to the iconic board game featured in the 1996 film. Adventurers can explore this immersive environment and test their navigational skills. And for those in need of refreshments, the Bazaar offers a selection of themed treats. Although, guests should be prepared to find no cake in this particular jungle-themed culinary oasis.
