Shipwreck Coast Is Full Steam Ahead

That’s right, Shipwreck Coast is full steam ahead after confirmation of planning permission today. With final permission now granted from the Kingston Borough planning office, work at Chessington can ramp up speed ahead of the summer. With construction walls in place and banners teasing that a storm is coming for spring 2022, work can now commence on the Project Anchor development.
The new land, set to replace Pirate’s Cove will bring about a number of changes to the area. Most notable is the addition of two new rides to the park. Bobbing Barrels, a water mania ride from Zamperla, will add to the lineup at the park. They are adding another fun water ride to the park, perfect for those hot summer days. Also new, Trawler Trouble is a Rockin’ Tug ride from the Italian manufacturer, Zamperla. The ride, although new to Chessington is second hand and comes from Thorpe Park following an extensive scenic refurbishment.
Alongside the addition of two new rides for this season is a scenic change to much of the area. Including the addition of a few animals to add to the land. That’s right, animals. Chessington is planning to add two species of animals to the new Shipwreck Coast area. With the addition of Goats and another to be confirmed species. So watch this space as Chessington commences construction on this exciting nautical adventure.
