Chessington Zoo Reopens June 18th
June 10th 2020
Chessington World of Adventures has announced that the Zoo will reopen from Thursday, June 18th. Following the change in government guidance, Zoo’s, as well as some other forms of outdoor entertainment, will be allowed to reopen from June 15th.
“We welcome the Government announcement expected later today that Zoos will be allowed to reopen from June 15.
Given the new hygiene and safety measures we have worked hard to put in place across the Resort, we will reopen our Zoo only on June 18. Separate to that of the Theme Park, which we still hope to reopen on July 4.
Tickets to visit our Zoo will need to be pre-booked online to guarantee entry. However please ‘bear’ with us, as more information on how to do this will be shared on our website shortly.
We can’t wait to welcome ‘zoo’ back next week!”

Zoos have been under a large amount of pressure to keep going during the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the expense of feeding the animals, not being open to paying guests has caused issues. Thanks to a campaign by the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA), zoos have been allowed to reopen.
The Chessington Buzz team will be visiting as soon as we’re able to. We cannot wait to get back to the park to see the changes and to escape reality once more. Updates as always will be posted on our social media profiles.
