Completed Projects

Welcome to Completed Projects, the home of Chessington’s most exciting transformations brought to life. This section celebrates the projects that made it off the drawing board and into the park, reshaping the landscape of Chessington World of Adventures. Delivering brand-new experiences for guests to enjoy.

Here, we follow each project from its very first planning documents all the way to its grand opening. We capture every step of the journey—from groundworks and demolition to steel rising, theming taking shape, and rides roaring to life. These are the projects that turned vision into reality, and we’ve tracked every twist and turn along the way.

Whether it’s the wild thrills of the World of Jumanji. An area which brought a disused picnic field to life with jaw-dropping theming and innovative new rides. Or the charming Shipwreck Coast, which breathed new life into a tired area with a fresh nautical theme and two family-friendly rides. Each project has left its mark on the park.

From small enhancements to large-scale themed lands, these completed developments have all played a role in moving Chessington forward. Some may be subtle, others spectacular, but each one is a part of the resort’s ever-evolving story.
